Description
Catey has been teaching private piano lessons since 2017. Growing up in a household of professional musicians, she began learning piano at the early age of 3. As a classically trained pianist, her expertise lies in teaching classical music, as well as technique methods, ear-training, and music theory, to students of all ages. During lessons, Catey hopes to inspire a love of classical piano music, and provide a space for students to build confidence in their piano playing abilities- regardless of age and skill level.
Originally from Texas, Catey graduated from The University of Texas at Arlington with a Bachelor of the Arts in Piano Pedagogy. She has experience performing as a soloist, as well as playing in various music ensembles and accompanying church choirs.
Catey is a member of the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA), in addition to Texas MTA and Maine MTA. She currently teaches online lessons and in-person lessons at Starbird Piano Gallery in Portland, Maine.
